We at times can put our hope in a new job, a new relationship, or hope in a change of circumstances. Although those things are not bad, we must be careful to not solely put our hope in those things.
We must first and foremost put our hope in Jesus Christ. On our own we are hopeless… But with Christ, we have a hope for a future. You see Christ gave us hope when He died on the Cross for our sins.
We now are free from the bondage of sin, and able to live a life surrendered to Jesus, knowing that He is a perfect Father who will take care of us. Doesn’t mean that there won’t be hard times ahead. But we know we are never alone, through the tough times.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” —Jeremiah 29:11
Struggle to put your hope in Jesus? I get it, I’ve been there myself. Let these verses sink in. Unless the Lord had helped me,
I would soon have settled in the silence of the grave. I cried out, “I am slipping!” but Your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me. When doubts filled my mind, Your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. – Psalm 94:17-19
Just the fact that you’re reading this, shows that you have breath in your lungs and that the Lord is working in you. I know at times it can feel as though you’re alone. But I want you to know you’re not.
God is working in your life even when it doesn’t seem like it. Continue to trust in Him. He is ever so Faithful!! God will never leave you. One of my favorite verses below is from
So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you. -Deuteronomy 31:6
We can take hope in the word of God! Knowing all that’s written is true. Therefore we know that God will never leave you. Know matter what you’re going through, what you have done, God is faithful, He has already gone ahead of you.
So my encouragement is to really press into the Lord through his word and through prayer. Write these verses down, post them around your house. Let the truth sink in!!
