Yo, what’s going on everyone?!
Hope you all are doing well!
I wanted to share an encouraging story with you all today. Have you ever had one of those moments where you’re kind of doing something and you see a lesson or principle within whatever it is that you’re doing? Ever asked yourself what the missing piece in your life is?
Well, l have one of those stories and I want to share it with you. Hope to bring you a little bit of encouragement throughout your day!
Let’s jump in!
The Crippled Dragon
So my son, my oldest son, we bought him this Lego set for Christmas, this 1600 piece Lego set. He’s big into Legos right now. He loves them and enjoys the process. So he unpacked it all and dumped the pieces out on the kitchen table.
He’s like, “All right, I’m going to get this done.” so he dives right in and spends hours building and putting together his masterpiece. Day after day after day, he sits there chipping away.
Let’s get back to the story, shall we!
So he comes to me after about the third or fourth day. And says, “Dad, I’m missing a piece.”
I’m like, “Okay, bud, I’ll come over and let’s take a look, see what’s going on.”
I come over, and we start searching through the pieces on the table, seeing if we can find the piece, sure enough, a couple of minutes passed and we don’t find the piece.
I start thinking to myself… If we lose one piece, it’s not that big of a deal.
“Hey bud, it doesn’t look like we can find the piece. Let’s just complete the creation, the masterpiece, without that piece. — It’s not that big of a deal. I thought to myself. It’s just ONE piece.
“But Dad, you don’t understand.” He exclaims.
Opening up the instruction book, he shows that it’s a crucial piece. “Without it, I’m not able to complete the project.”
I’m like “Show me, bud, what do you mean by this?”
The piece that was missing was a joint piece that held both the leg, as well as the wing of the dragon together. It was literally sitting on the table, crippled for days.
Finally, the piece came in. Within a couple of minutes, he connects the missing piece and viola, it was all complete!
I sat for a moment and thought: we waited days for this singular piece to come. When it came, the project was complete. The dragon could sit right up. I’m like, there’s a message in there somewhere. Is there not?
The Message – The Missing Piece
You see… so many of us, we go running around in our lives. We have things “kind of” figured out, we’re doing good, loving our family, serving the community.
We’re still crippled within.
Why is this?
Because we’re missing the most singular important piece that puts everything together, which is a relationship with Jesus Christ.
You see, he created us!
A good, and perfect, holy, and loving Father created us so that we could have fellowship, fellowship with him!
But because of sin because of evil, because of the fall, because of our wicked hearts, we have separated ourselves from God.
The fellowship God always intended us to have was separated when sin entered the picture. We’ve all committed sins… Have we not?
Have you told a lie? Lusted after something.? Have pride within your heart? You see all these things separate us from God… But Jesus!
Jesus, the missing piece of the puzzle, the one that brought reconciliation back, so that we and our heavenly Father can be brought back together. It is through what Jesus Christ did on the cross that now gives us abundant life, true life, a life of fullness.
Isn’t that so beautiful?
Yet so many of us sit on the kitchen table, crippled, never living up to our full potential in life because we didn’t make a simple decision. A free gift that God has given us through his Son, Jesus Christ.
So I just want to encourage anyone reading this right now. If you have not given your life, your heart to Jesus Christ, all it is, is believing, putting our faith that Jesus died on the cross for us, for our sins. He rose to new life. And in the same way, when we believe in Him, we too rise to a new life with Christ and He purifies us, he makes us new, and we walk in union and fellowship with Him!
Does that mean that life is going to be perfect? Absolutely not. There will always be struggle, but our future is then secured in Jesus Christ.
I hope y’all were encouraged. If you have any questions on what that means to have a relationship with Jesus, please feel free to comment or reach out! I would love to talk!
Be blessed and make sure you find your missing piece. Love y’all, peace.
